I am enchanted by traditional Greenland sea kayaks and the history behind them. This boat was my first build. I carved the paddle with a hatchet from a redwood 2 x 4. These images resulted from what was supposed to be a scouting trip. Photography was good to me on that day. The sky became a fiery display between the end of “golden hour” and into “blue hour”. The entire shoot lasted approximately 20 minutes during the transition of light. I nearly threw out the image with the seagulls in it, but later, I stumbled on a post processing technique that was a true game changer when it comes to photographing clouds in daylight.
